The Herb Alpert Award in the Arts is an unrestricted prize of $75,000 given annually to risk-taking mid-career artists working in the fields of dance, film/video, music, theatre and the visual arts.
Presented in collaboration with the 2014 Whitney Biennial, the "Art of the Real" series celebrates documentary film, including works by Herb Alpert Award Artist Lucien Castaing-Taylor ('13) and Harvard's Sensory Ethnography Lab.
